Eldred de Vos - Born in Bullies (02/01/1952). Went to Newmansford junior school, then to the best rugby playing school (Northlea). Went on to become an appy auto electrician (Dulys - Abercorn street), then a spell at college (Salisbury Polytechnic - Jameson Ave). Whilst at "home" was very active in different bands (from dance to rock - too numerous to mention here). Worked at Supersonic (production planner), and became friends with Wally Shird, Peter Tottle, John Amm, Julia Painting and Gavin Winterbore. Then did some digging at the Mashaba mine and turbine driver / boiler operator at the ESC in Shabani. Got married at this time to Shannon Bloxham and had two sons. Finally settling with the BCC in Essexvale, as a waterworks supervisor / attendant, then immigrated to Cape Town in 1978. Been back to Bullies twice since - once to visit my ill dad (George), and once to bury him. Got divorced in 1985 and remarried in 1993 to Desray - no kids from this marriage (just practice) ! Settled in Cape Town, and been there, done that, and had the T shirts printed. Staying in a rented house in the Bellville area, and enjoying what I can for rest of my time on this planet. I have many hobbies and often wish I had the time to share evenly with all of them . . . . . . Some interests are: amateur radio (became a ham (callsign ZS1DJ) in 1980). Radio control aircraft (build and fly many different varieties). Music (active bass guitarist with my wife Desray in a duo called "GIGgle"). Desray sings fantastic (sweetheart, please put the cheque's in the post) ! Also enjoy spending time potting around at home, and if time permits - I go to work ! (Both boys, 32 and 33, are out of the house and do their own thing). I would love to hear from friends that knew me (or knew of me), and would like to thank Wally Shird who hosts this great site, and dearly hope that with his help, (and this site's help), that he can steer me in the right direction to hook up with my treasured friends that I have lost contact with. Love yous all - Eldred (the dredded) XX (Email me PLEASE) !!!!
